Description:

The SiDnet project is focused on advancing science diplomacy as a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of science, technology, and diplomacy, with the aim of addressing contemporary global challenges and complex geopolitical changes more effectively. The core purpose of the Action is to establish a pan-European network that connects researchers, policy makers, and industry representatives in order to strengthen interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral cooperation. The project is structured around four interconnected working groups. The first working group addresses diplomacy for science, with a focus on technological sovereignty, data governance, and security in international scientific cooperation. The second working group explores the role of science in diplomacy, particularly in shaping foreign policy responses to global challenges such as climate change and sustainability. The third working group examines the potential of scientific cooperation as an instrument for improving relations between states, especially in geopolitically sensitive contexts. The fourth working group is dedicated to communication, dissemination, training, and networking, ensuring the visibility of project results and their broader societal impact. The project places particular emphasis on ethical standards, inclusiveness, and responsible governance of emerging technologies, while seeking to establish a sustainable framework for international cooperation that balances national interests with global responsibilities.
