Project description:
The Gorani movement of Serbia is the oldest environmental organisation in the Balkans, formed in 1960. After its establishment, the organisation's main goals were reforestation, increasing green spaces and educating citizens. The Gorani have reforested degraded and eroded landscapes across Serbia and raised the environmental awareness of citizens, especially among young people.
The goals of SEED project Popularisation of the Gorani movement of Serbia are conducting environmental history research and popularising the results, through an exhibition about the Gorani movement at the IES and particiaption in the European Night of Researchers.
