Ludger Wößmann

Professor Woessmann is the Director of the ifo Center for the Economics of Education and a Professor of Economics at the University of Munich. He also serves as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

As a leading expert in the economics of education, Professor Woessmann's research focuses on the role of education in fostering long-term economic prosperity and its impact on educational achievement and equality of opportunity. His contributions to the field have earned him fellowships in prestigious institutions, including the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the International Academy of Education. He also serves on the Academic Advisory Council of the German Federal Ministry of Economics.
