The Institute of Economic Sciences Celebrates 66 Years of Excellence

On December 3rd and 4th, 2024, the Institute of Economic Sciences (IES) officially marked its 66th anniversary. As part of this significant milestone, the first Internal Research Forum titled "Institute of Economic Sciences – 66 Years of Research and Development" was held on December 3rd.

During the one-day forum, researchers from the Institute's six departments presented key scientific achievements from 2024. The presentations included scientific papers published in renowned journals, basic and applied research projects, innovative initiatives, and ongoing research efforts, offering a comprehensive overview of the Institute's accomplishments. In a period of dynamic growth for IES, the forum provided an opportunity for researchers to share experiences and highlight the contributions of each department.

Traditionally, on December 4th, the Institute’s founding day, an award ceremony was held to honor both long-standing and annual achievements of its staff. Milestone awards recognized employees for their years of dedicated service, while annual awards celebrated outstanding individual accomplishments. Dr. Petar Mitić received the "Tomislav Popović Award" for the most significant scientific contribution, while MA Marija Antonijević was honored with the "Ana Jaško Award" for the best research paper.

This two-day event once again underscored the role of the Institute of Economic Sciences as one of the leading research centers in Serbia and the region, deeply rooted in tradition and committed to continuous development and the advancement of scientific research.
