Opis ciljeva/oblasti istraživanja departmana

Departman za makroekonomiju okuplja istraživače IEN-a čiji su predmet istraživanja fiskalna i monetarna stabilnost, rast i investicije, i međunarodni tokovi trgovine i kapitala. Primarni cilj Departmana je da doprinese akademskoj zajednici, kreatorima javnih politika i širem društvu produkcijom izvrsnih istraživanja u oblasti ekonomskog i društvenog razvoja. U tom cilju, istraživački napori su usmereni na savremena pitanja od ključnog značaja za male otvorene privrede, kao što je Srbija, u oblastima monetarne i fiskalne politike: fiskalna i monetarna stabilnost, šokovi, krize i instrumenti politike; ekonomski rast: strane direktne investicije, sektorska analiza i poslovni ciklusi; i međunarodna ekonomija: konkurentnost, devizni kurs, trgovinska politika, mobilnost kapitala. Odeljenje takođe proizvodi polugodišnju publikaciju – SEE-6 Economic Outlook – o makroekonomskim trendovima i kretanjima u regionu (u saradnji sa Udruženjem ekonomskih instituta Jugoistočne Evrope), organizuje radionice i seminare i pruža analitičke usluge prilagođene zahtevima kreatora javnih politika i privrede.
