Mihael Dlesk (1944) was born in Sisak (Croatia). He finished elementary school in Novi Sad and high school in Ogulin. He graduated in 1969, and received his master's degree (1976) and doctorate (1981) at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade. His doctoral thesis was entitled "The spread of technical and technological progress and its impact on agricultural income." His notable work includes: Productivity of Yugoslav Agriculture - A Regional and Sector Analysis (1974), Mechanism of the spread of technical-technological progress and effect on agricultural income (1981), Technical and technological progress and development of agriculture (1983).
