Today, the Institute of Economic Sciences (IES) is a prestigious and modern scientific research institution that follows contemporary trends in scientific and applied activities. Guided by the principles of excellence and the slogan "cognoscere est mutare", IES is recognized as a reliable scientific research institution that has gained a high reputation in the region of Southeast Europe. Relying on the most important resource - researchers, of whom there are over forty, IES is focused on deepening knowledge on a wide range of current topics in the fields of macroeconomics and improving the competitiveness of the economy of the Republic of Serbia, affirming the role of social sciences in the formulation of public policies, the economics of labor and well-being, digital economy, the economics of innovation, environmental economics, economic theory and history and others.
