Reshaping Work Regional Conference 2024 “Future of Work Revisited: Platform Work in the Age of AI”

In collaboration with the Public Policy Research Centre and the Amsterdam initiative Reshaping Work, this year, the Institute of Economic Sciences participated in the organization of the regional Reshaping Work conference titled "Future Of Work Revisited: Platform Work In The Age Of AI".

The conference was opened on May 22nd by Branka Anđelković and Tanja Jakobi from the Public Policy Research Centre, and the Director of the Institute of Economic Sciences, Dr. Jovan Zubović. On the first day of the conference, Professor Mark Graham from the Oxford Internet Institute delivered the keynote speech, discussing the transformative power of artificial intelligence and the millions of low-paid workers worldwide who enable its rapid and efficient operation.

The second day of the conference began with a speech by Manuela Geleneg from the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission. Milan Dobrijević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, also addressed the attendees. On the same day, two panel discussions, four parallel sessions featuring research presentations, and six roundtable discussions were held. The conference concluded with a keynote speech by Annarose Pesole from the International Labour Organization.

Dr. Valentina Vukmirović, a research associate at the Institute of Economic Sciences, was a member of the Conference's Organizing Committee, while research associate Đina Ivanović presented a paper during the 4th parallel session titled "Skills for the new platform era". The Institute’s researchers actively participated in the conference sessions and discussions.
