The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia approved the financing of the ROCS project within the DIASPORA 2024 program

The team of the Institute of Economic Sciences, including Kosovka Ognjenović, project leader, Jovan Zubović, Valentina Vukmirović, Boban Nedeljković, together with Ružica Savčić from the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus, is involved in the implementation of the project “Research on Occupational Change in the Serbian Labour Market: Identifying Trends for Future Workforce Developments and Policy Responses – ROCS“. The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia has approved the funding of the project within the framework of the Serbian Scientific Cooperation Programme with the Diaspora: Support for Visits of Diaspora Scientists – DIASPORA 2024.

The aim of the approved project is to examine the changes in the structure of occupations in the Serbian labour market that have taken place over a long period of time under the influence of technological and demographic factors, as well as to provide relevant suggestions for education and labour market policies. The expected results of the project are the transfer of knowledge through methodological seminars and workshops, scientific publications, mutual visits of researchers to deepen cooperation between scientific organisations and recommendations for decision-makers in the fields of education and the labour market.

The project leader, Kosovka Ognjenović, participated in the kick-off meeting held on 10 July 2025 at the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the start of the implementation of the approved projects. At the meeting, the DIASPORA 2024 programme and the projects that will be implemented within this programme were presented.

The implementation of the ROCS project will start on 1 August 2025 and will last for the next 12 months. The approved project budget is EUR 19,751.75.
