Institute of Economic Sciences is Granted the Status of an Institute of National Importance<

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a decision on February 26, 2026, officially granting the Institute of Economic Sciences the status of an Institute of National Importance.

This decision represents a recognition of the Institute's decades-long contribution to advancing economic science in Serbia and an acknowledgment of its significance for the development of society and scientific thought in the country.

During the accreditation process, conducted by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, it was confirmed that the Institute meets all the requirements, from a well-developed scientific research program and international cooperation, to exceptional scientific results published in domestic and international journals. In the evaluated period, the Institute's associates published over 400 papers in the highest categories of scientific results.

The Institute's strategic development priorities are aligned with the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, and the Institute actively participates in numerous domestic and international projects, including those funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia and relevant ministries. Obtaining this status opens new opportunities for the further development of the Institute and the strengthening of its role in creating the scientific foundations for Serbia's economic progress.
