Digital entrepreneurial competences of university students in Kuwait and Serbia

Team coordinator of the Institute of Economic Sciences: Vladimir Simović, PhD

Duration: 2021-2022

Description:
Ten (10) higher education institutions (HEI) in Kuwait and around eighty (80) in Serbia provide curriculums which combine entrepreneurial and IT courses. Their students graduate and enter the labor market in possession of some level of digital entrepreneurial competencies (DEC). The problem lies in the fact that there are no available tools and methodologies which would enable the assessment of the exact levels of DEC the students acquire during the course of their formal education. This problem goes far beyond Kuwait and Serbia and is applicable to any other country in the world. This project will use the existing knowledge in the area of general digital and entrepreneurial competence assessment, the knowledge of industry representatives, government and professional bodies to formulate the DEC framework and corresponding methodology, using dominantly European competence frameworks (DigComp, EntreComp etc.) as a role model. DEC framework and corresponding methodology will be used to assess the levels of DEC the university students in two countries acquire during the course of their university education. Also, the researchers will investigate the factors underlying different levels of DEC among university students as well as the benchmark analysis between Kuwait and Serbian students.
