COST Action CA23112 Critical Perspectives on Career and Career Guidance (COCAG)

Duration of the project: 2024-2028

Team member of Working Group 2. Policy responses – Examines the policy frameworks that govern career guidance and assesses their implications for different groups in society: dr Dejana Pavlović

COCAG project (Critical perspectives on career and career guidance) aims to explore how careers are changing in contemporary society, and how public policy and practice can respond to these changes through a critical approach. The project focuses on social inequalities, labor market transformations, technological advancements, and political and economic challenges that affect individual career paths.

The project addresses the following objectives:

  • Connecting researchers from Europe and beyond to jointly investigate careers and career guidance,
  • Developing innovative approaches in education, training, and policies related to work and careers,
  • Publicly communicating research findings to influence policymakers and practitioners,
  • Supporting young researchers and innovators,
  • Promoting international collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches.

The project is structured around three main streams of activity, which correspond to the three core research questions. All Working Groups (WGs) are organized in a similar way but focus on different aspects of the issue and work with distinct target audiences. Each Working Group is designed to ensure diversity in terms of geographic background, career stage, academic discipline, and research methodology.

Working Group 1 (WG1): Challenges and changes in career in the contemporary world

Working Group 2 (WG2): Policy responses to contemporary challenges to individuals’ careers

Working Group 3 (WG3): Critical practice in career guidance
