Workshop: Strengthening the Capacity of Experts and Multisectoral Cooperation in the Field of Tobacco Control

To encourage knowledge transfer and the exchange of experience in the field of tobacco control in Serbia and strengthen multisectoral cooperation, the Institute of Economic Sciences (IES) organized a workshop called: Strengthening the Capacity of Experts and Multisectoral Cooperation in the Field of Tobacco Control on May 25, 2023, in Belgrade.

Participants at the workshop had the opportunity to improve their knowledge regarding tobacco use patterns, price measures for tobacco control in Serbia, and advocacy skills for implementing these measures. The need for further education and steps to strengthen multisectoral cooperation was identified during the workshop.

Besides the economists and experts from different fields related to tobacco control, the representatives of civil society associations attended the workshop that can contribute by advocating for evidence-based tobacco control measures.

This event was the first workshop in a series that the IES will organize in the coming period within the project Accelerating Progress on Effective Tobacco Tax Policies in Low and Middle-Income Countries.
