Danijela Stojanović, PhD, and Elena Jovičić, PhD, participated in the CHERN Joint Working Group Conference “China - Europe: Reconnecting in an Era of Competition and Rivalry”

Danijela Stojanović, PhD, and Elena Jovičić, PhD research associates at the Institute of Economic Sciences, participated in the CHERN Joint Working Group Conference “China - Europe: Reconnecting in an Era of Competition and Rivalry?”, which was held on September 7 and 8, 2023, at the Vrije University in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

The conference was attended by over 150 participants who primarily focus their research on China and represent various disciplines, from anthropology to legal studies, enriching the understanding of contemporary China and the relationship between China and Europe with their works. Several parallel Working Groups Workshops and Roundtables were organized within the conference.

Danijela Stojanović participated in the working group: Green and Digital Transitions: Opportunities and Challenges for Europe and China. She presented her work and the research she is carrying out with her collaborators for the COST project, entitled Development, Experiences, and Application of Open Innovations in Europe and China in the Function of Environmental Sustainability and Green Transition.

Elena Jovičić participated in the working group: China - Europe, competition, and cooperation in global finance: decarbonization and environmental protection, where she presented her research on the topic of the green economy and green finance development in China.

The CHERN conference at the Vrije University in Amsterdam was an opportunity to meet leading Chinese academics and researchers from Europe, who discussed the new realities for the European Union in an era of increasing competition and rivalry.
