On Thursday, 9 July 2026, the final forum of the Horizon Europe CoARA Boost project ARISE – Advancing Research Assessment in Serbia: A Pilot Project for the Institute of Economic Sciences took place at Europe House in Belgrade.
During the Forum, the ARISE Research Assessment Model was presented. The model, developed and piloted at the Institute of Economic Sciences in line with the principles of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), was presented together with the key findings from its pilot implementation.
The Forum's special guest, Benjamin Dagot, Head of European Affairs at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (France), shared France's experience with qualitative peer review in research assessment and highlighted the role of this approach in fostering more effective and responsible research evaluation systems.
The event concluded with the round table “Towards Responsible Research Assessment in Serbia: Opportunities for Broader Application of the ARISE Model in the Serbian Research Community”, where representatives of the research community discussed the potential for wider adoption of the ARISE model in Serbia, the challenges of improving the current research assessment system, and the next steps towards promoting more responsible research assessment in line with CoARA principles.
The ARISE project was funded through the Horizon Europe CoARA Boost Cascade Funding programme.
