The ECTC is the leading European event in tobacco control, bringing together distinguished researchers, academics, policymakers, representatives of international organizations, health institutions, and civil society.

This year's conference theme focuses specifically on the economics of tobacco.

Key Areas of the Conference Include:

  • Health Economics: Evaluating the costs of tobacco-related diseases to healthcare systems and society as a whole.
  • Fiscal Policies: Studying how taxes, price increases, and subsidies affect tobacco consumption and government revenues.
  • Illicit Trade Analysis: Assessing the economic implications of smuggling and counterfeit tobacco products.
  • Behavioral Economics: Understanding how consumers respond to policy changes such as advertising bans, plain packaging, or smoking bans in public or indoor spaces.
  • Equity and Social Impact: Considering how tobacco control policies affect different population groups, especially vulnerable communities.

The Special Edition of the 10th European Conference on Tobacco Control (ECTC) will provide valuable insights into the latest EU regulatory proposals and their potential impact on public health and national economies.
